Montessorischool “De Eilanden” is een bijzonder neutrale basisschool gebaseerd op de antropologie en het pedagogisch en didactisch concept van Maria Montessori. De school is een algemeen bijzondere school en valt onder het bestuur van de Espritscholen. In 1992 is de school gestart op initiatief van een groep enthousiaste ouders. Inmiddels is de school gehuisvest in een prachtig gebouw op het Bickerseiland in hartje Amsterdam. Het gebouw biedt ruimte aan maximaal 11 groepen. De school is erkend door de Nederlandsche Montessori Vereniging (NMV).
