Founded in 1964, we pride ourselves for our highly qualified teachers, our diverse international community, academic rigor, and our supportive environment and holistic approach. Children are the focus of our student-centered atmosphere, and we encourage students to reach their fullest potential and become open-minded individuals so they may be equipped to make positive contributions to our global community. Our mission is to provide a quality and engaging curriculum which instills in students a life-long passion for learning, and to support, inspire, and empower them to be successful individuals. ISN offers an inspiring learning experience beginning with its Early Childhood Development Program of the Montessori Method and progresses through a rigorous US standards-based curriculum for the High School Diploma. English is the main language of instruction and the rich curriculum is fueled by the passion to prepare 21st century students to thrive in our ever-changing global community. ISN is also one of the few select schools in Italy to offer the dual Italian/English program for Elementary and Middle School students. Accreditations

In 2005 ISN received accreditation from two prestigious external accreditation agencies: The Council of International Schools (CIS - international standards) AND the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC - United States standards). These accreditation agencies collaborate with leading international schools operating around the world and represent a global tradition of high standards and commitment to ongoing improvement in education.

Curricula

Our school is modeled after the US system and tradition. We offer a rigorous curriculum based on a comprehensive student preparation in all academic areas. Primary objectives are academic excellence, fellowship, and cooperation among students and faculty of different cultural backgrounds. The curriculum reflects a response to the needs of students in an international environment who aim to further their studies throughout the world. ISN believes that the process of learning is as important as the end result. The curriculum focuses not only on the acquisition of knowledge, but also on the development of critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities. We believe in honoring the unique qualities of each child and the importance of a curriculum that develops the child’s positive self-image, establishes English language skills, encourages creativity, and develops critical thinking abilities. We believe that children learn by being involved in the learning process and by experiencing the world around them with teachers who are sensitive and qualified to meet their needs.
