Admissions Process
The application process for boarding students includes the following: • Online application with a $75 non-refundable application fee • Parent statementStudent questionnaire • Student records from the past two years, including academic and behavioral records, transcripts, and standardized test scores • Recommendations from your student's current Math and English teachers • Recent photo of student • A classroom visit scheduled by the Admissions team. If a campus visit is not possible, we will coordinate a phone or web-based interview via Skype Additional requirements for international students: • English proficiency scores on at least one Internet-based TOEFL (TOEFL iBT), iTEP, or IELTS test (see chart below). We also will consider scores from the PSAT, SAT, ACT or SSAT. Scores must be submitted to Riverstone International School, institution #5985. Please note that we do not accept SLEP or TOEFL Jr scores. • Copy of a page in a passport that shows your student's full name, photograph, and expiration date After the application process is complete, the Admissions Committee will review your student's application at their next scheduled meeting. After this review, the Director of Admissions and Marketing will notify parents of the admissions decision.
Entry Requirements
Students must plan to attend Riverstone for both grade 11 and 12 to complete the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. Only students with previous IB experience may apply for grade 12.

Use of technology in the classroom
High School students at Riverstone are communicating, researching, and submitting assignments electronically every day. In order for students to fully participate in classroom activities, we require students in grades 9 through 12 to bring a charged computer to school. Computers must be able to connect to the Internet, save files in PDF format, and upload files to ManageBac. At the start of each school year, we establish ManageBac accounts for each student and ensure they understand how to use their personal accounts to review and submit assignments. Due to the quickly changing nature of the Internet and social media, Riverstone's technology usage policy is based on our Guiding Principles. Students are expected to act responsibly and respectfully at all times. Teachers may allow students to utilize their computers/tablets for class work. Students are expected to keep computers/tablets powered off when requested. Students are prohibited from downloading inappropriate material or material that is in potential violation of the law. The school is not responsible for students' computers/tablets. Neither the school nor its employees can be held responsible for monitoring all activity on social media. We are mandated to report inappropriate or concerning content. By the time students have completed high school, they are experienced in using Google documents, making movies, composing music, creating blogs, and collaborating online. Students will also be well versed in word processing, spreadsheet, page layout, and presentation software applications. Additionally, we hold regular conversations about safe and appropriate use of technology.

Schools Facilities
We offer concierge college counseling and athletic, musical, and academic extracurricular activities. Our newly-built residential facility is located in downtown Boise, the third most populous city in the US Pacific Northwest, with easy access to skiing, kayaking, and mountain biking.
Sports Teams
Volleyball and Basketball The girls volleyball team and girls and boys basketball teams compete in the Western Idaho Conference (WIC). The volleyball team competes in the fall and basketball in the winter. The teams typically practice after school and seasons last about eight weeks. Riverstone provides transportation to and from the games. Soccer Our High School co-ed soccer team competes in the Idaho Rush league during the fall and spring seasons. Teams typically practice after school and seasons last about eight weeks each. Since games are generally held on Saturday, the school does not provide transportation. Ski and Snowboard Team Riverstone students can compete in the Middle and High School Ski and Snowboard race series held at Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area. Final competitions take place during the Dotty Clark races in February. This program has no organized practices, but staff members coordinate the team's activities on the mountain. Swimming Riverstone students, both girls and boys, compete on a cooperative team with Timberline High School. The season starts in mid-August and continues through early November, culminating in the state swimming championships that students qualify for based on their competition times. Practices are typically held Monday – Friday at a designated pool, with approximately six competitions held during the season. Other Sports Riverstone students also compete in variety of other sports. Aside from volleyball and basketball, Riverstone students can join other athletic teams through their local public school. Riverstone students have been honored as captains of public school teams. We also support students who participate in individual endeavors such as cycling, fencing, kayaking, skiing, and more. Our students have included Junior National Cycling Champions, international team cyclists, regional alpine and nordic skier competitors, and Junior National Fencing competitors, as examples.
