Description
ISS International School is one of Singapore’s most established International Schools, having nurtured and empowered learners from grades K-12 since 1981. Our truly international learning environment has been providing our inclusive community the opportunities for each child at our school to realise their full potential.
We have been refining our bespoke education approach for almost four decades. Ensuring the success of each and every one of our learners by customising what they learn, how they learn it, focussing on their specific needs and strengths, and encouraging them accordingly.
As an IB World School, and Singapore’s longest established International Baccalaureate (IB) Continuum School, our learners benefit from the entire frameworks that the IB offers (via the IB Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme, and Diploma Programme). Our IB-based academic curriculum incorporates our bespoke education philosophy and this is what makes us different. Our teachers will adapt their curriculum delivery based on what they observe is the way students learn best. In addition, our teachers develop study plans that suit the learners in order to excite and encourage them to realise their full potential.
From the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) to the five years Middle Years Programme (MYP), which ends with IB-validated eAssessment grades based on final examinations and coursework, we believe our learners are fully equipped with the skills and experience necessary to succeed in the IB Diploma programme and are ready for university and the next journey in higher education. This readiness, we believe, is best achieved within the IB Continuum and without deviating in and out of other curricula that are not affiliated with the IB.
ISS is home to a community of over 40 nationalities. We celebrate our differences while embracing the values that unite us all. We are proud to be a nonselective IB World School that excels in high pass rates of our bilingual IB Diploma graduates, offering pathways for our students to further their academic journey at top global universities.Nestled among the treetops of Telok Blangah Hill National Park, ISS is one of the most centrally located international schools in Singapore. Our tropical gardens offer a serene environment to learn and reflect, while our conserved heritage buildings are within a ten minute drive to the CBD and many expat neighbourhoods such as Orchard, River Valley, Harbourfront and Holland Road.

School Lunch
The culinary team of The Gastro Guys has a strong background in the food business. The Head Chef has more than 15 years of professional experience in Kobe, Japan. He and his team are adept in producing both Western and Asian cuisine, including healthy alternatives to Singapore’s local favourites.
Students in Kindergarten to Grade 2 may pre-order their food which will be delivered to their homerooms during meal times. Parents of these students will receive information regarding the ordering process at the start of each new school year. Meals for lunch range in price from SGD4.50-SGD5.00, while a range of snacks and drinks are also available and cost between SGD1.00-SGD3.00.
ELL
Given our diverse international student population and our commitment to success for all, a comprehensive programme of English as a Second Language (ESL) support is offered in all sections of our school.
There are multiple phases in the programme, including an intensive programme for beginners to ensure students are challenged appropriately, according to their English ability.
Phase 1 is intensive English for students with very little spoken English.
Phase 2 to 4 has an appropriate level of assistance ranging from Phase 2, which is quite intensive, to Phase 4, which prepares students for their transition into mainstream English and other subject classes.
ESL students are continuously monitored and assessed throughout the school year to ensure a timely transition between phases. Each child will study at an appropriate level for their ability.
