Schools Facilities
The Avenues São Paulo campus is a 40,000-square-meter, state-of-the-art educational facility. Our campus reflects Avenues’ core principles of innovation, sustainability and student-centered pedagogy. Nestled among iconic landmarks and neighborhoods, Avenues São Paulo is a haven of security, tranquility and beauty in the midst of a bustling city. With drive times of 30 minutes or less from nearly all of São Paulo’s major residential areas, our campus enjoys an exceptionally convenient location.
Bus Service
School bus services are provided by Bus Children to all students, transforming their commute into an opportunity to socialize with peers and become more independent. Bus Children has been working with Avenues São Paulo since our campus opened in 2018 and is a valued partner in reducing traffic during arrival and dismissal and promoting more sustainability within our community.
All Bus Children school vans and micro buses are monitored by the school via satellite. They also go through periodical routine maintenance and are replaced after five years of use. In addition, medical insurance and support is offered to all passengers in case of emergencies.
School Lunch
Avenues is happy to partner with Sodexo to offer a balanced diet for our students and employees on campus. Children in Small World through kindergarten have lunch served in the classroom; all other grades will eat in Food, our cafeteria on the ground floor.
Snacks: Students enjoy morning and afternoon snacks that include fruits, carbohydrates and proteins.
Lunch: We offer six options of salad with homemade dressing and seeds, soup, three options of rice, pasta with two options of sauce, three options of animal protein and a vegan option.
Dessert: Fruits, yogurt, honey and oat are served every day. Sweet desserts are offered only twice a month to avoid the sugar rush caused by excess sugar and expand the students' dietary repertoire.
All our vendors go through a rigorous selection process, and production is daily, using fresh ingredients and natural seasonings. Food samples are collected throughout the whole process for hygiene and quality control.
ELL
Avenues Language Learning Intensive (ALLI) is a semester-to-yearlong program designed for students from 6th through 9th Grade who meet all academic criteria for admission to Avenues but require minimal additional support in English reading, writing, and/or speaking in order to ensure classroom readiness in an English-language learning environment. Students in this program will continue their academic coursework at an age-appropriate level while deepening and furthering their abilities in English through an engaging, project-based curriculum that puts students at the center of their own learning and language acquisition.
Sports Teams
In our mission statement, we pledge to graduate students who are “emotionally unafraid and physically fit,” and our approach to physical education reflects that holistic commitment to body and mind. Whether through Wellness and Movement, our signature health and physical education program, or competitive team sports that start in 6th grade, Avenues students are supported to pursue excellence and develop the habits that lead to lifelong mental and physical health.
Our sports seasons follow the major tournaments that happen each semester. Usually, soccer and basketball championships and tournaments take place between August and December, whereas futsal and volleyball events take place between February and May. For the past years, we have been able to offer most of the sports yearround, including cheerleading
Uniform
Avenues has a style guide that is color-based. Students are required to wear black, white, and gray clothing. Avenues has branded uniform clothing that families can order optionally.
Access to an educational psychologist
Avenues has a Student Success Team (SST). The SST members oversee individual students and understand their needs to share key information with the class teachers and subject area teachers as well as the deans of student life. The team includes a psychologist, speech therapist and occupational therapist, as well as several learning specialists. SST will work closely with the deans and Associate Division heads to make sure that student needs are communicated effectively, and that learning plans and strategies are in place.
