Use of technology in the classroom

I am pleased to share with you a glimpse of what's in store for Ashbury College. In May 2017, the Board of Governors approved plans for a new Centre for Science & Innovation in response to both program and facilities' needs. This initiative will involve two phases: a renewal to existing Junior School Science spaces, completed this summer, followed by the development of all Senior Science and Innovation spaces on three levels, replacing the current science wing, during the 2018–19 school year. The new centre will consolidate all senior sciences in one location, with an innovation lab bridging over to our Creative Learning Commons as an access point for all subject areas in Junior and Senior School. New labs and classrooms will be configured to include state-of-the-art equipment on increased footprints to allow for excellence in teaching and learning in Science, Technology and a spirit of inquiry and innovation. The project also seeks to address our continued focus on increasing access to an Ashbury education through scholarships and bursaries. So much of Ashbury's development has been made possible by the passion and support of parents and alumni in our community. Expressions of interest in partnering opportunities to support the new centre are currently being considered, and can be directed to Mr. Bruce Mutch, Executive Director of Enrollment and Advancement at bruce.mutch@ashbury.ca. This exciting new project will ensure the continued legacy of Ashburians in Science and Innovation in Canada, and internationally, well into the future. Sincerely, Norman Southward Head of School – Directeur
