Description
The American Overseas School of Rome (AOSR) is an international school in Rome serving students from Pre-K through Grade 12.
The school opened in 1946 and was officially incorporated in 1947. AOSR has brought together families from the United States, Italy, and around the world. Today, our community represents more than 55 nationalities, creating an environment where students learn alongside classmates with different cultures, languages, and perspectives.
AOSR combines the strengths of an American international education with the opportunities of studying in Rome. Students benefit from personalized learning, a broad academic program, competitive athletics, performing and visual arts, and an extensive range of extracurricular activities.
In High School, students choose from both the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and Advanced Placement courses, giving each student the opportunity to build an academic pathway aligned with their strengths, interests, and university goals.

Accreditations
AOSR is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA-CESS) and is authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (an IB World School in Italy). AOSR also offers Advanced Placement (AP) courses through the College Board.
Tuition
AOSR tuition varies by grade level, from Pre-K through Grade 12. Tuition includes many of the academic programs and services provided as part of the AOSR educational experience.
Additional fees apply, including registration and capital assessment fees, with some program-specific costs depending on grade level and student choices.

AOSR welcomes applications from students from a wide range of educational backgrounds and nationalities.
Admission considers the student’s age, previous school records, academic background, English language proficiency, and appropriate grade placement. Additional documentation or assessment may be requested depending on the student’s age, grade level, and individual circumstances.
