UWC Thailand International School

Description

In commitment to the school motto of “Good Heart, Balanced Mind, Healthy Body”, UWC Thailand, a non-profit international school on the beautiful island of Phuket offers a holistic, transformative, and rigorous IB continuum education from Nursery to Grade 12, including both day and boarding students.

UWC Thailand students benefit from our unparalleled programming, grounded in mindfulness, outdoor experiential education, sports and service learning. These opportunities for continuous growth in a safe and nurturing environment allow students to develop the skills and dispositions that will transcend time and prepare them for the resilience needed in an ever-changing world.

As a member of the UWC movement, students attain an unparalleled global network of connections. They enjoy impactful learning experiences, enriched by our deliberate cultural diversity community, and driven by the common goal of our students to ‘be a force’ for ‘a more peaceful and sustainable future’ now and for generations to come.

UWC’s 18 schools and colleges deliver a challenging and transformational education to over 9,500 students each year. They are set in 18 countries on four continents. What makes each one of them a UWC is a deliberately diverse student body, with students coming from all over the world, bringing with them very different backgrounds to learn and live together—and their joined mission to make education a force for peace and sustainability. University Counseling

Our graduates are change-makers with depth of character, grit and initiative. They have shown the world what we already knew—there is nothing average about them. Collectively they scored almost five points higher than the global IB Diploma Programme average and have matriculated to colleges and universities in Europe, Asia, Australia and USA. The Davis United World Scholars Programme offers scholarships to UWC graduates who are accepted by one of over 90 partner institutions in the US – including Yale, Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, Vassar, Columbia, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Duke, Dartmouth and MIT. This ensures UWC students demonstrating financial need are also supported through university. Alternatively, to further live the values they have embraced at UWC Thailand, some of our students opt to take a gap year and work with a variety of projects, companies or NGOs prior to attending university.
