Canggu Community School

Welcome to Canggu Community School. Our goal is to provide all students an empowered education and a unique adventure, with a balanced and holistic focus. Ccs is fully guided by our values, mission, and strategic goals.

We believe that CCS and Bali are very special places. Community is at the core of what makes CCS and Bali special and unique. Our community lives out our shared values of learning, engagement, respect, and balance. When you visit CCS, you will see students who are happy, feel valued and supported, and are confident to engage in a wide range of opportunities.

Description

CCS is a non-profit co-educational school enrolling students from Preschool to Year 13. Learning at CCS is focused on inquiry, student-led, facilitated by excellent teachers, and rooted in research-based best practices in international education. CCS curriculum is grounded in the British National Curriculum, Cambridge IGCSE, and IBDP but adapted to fit our unique context in Bali. Most importantly, we believe students learn best when they are empowered, confident, and part of a community. CCS is fully accredited by CIS and WASC and is authorised to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program.

There are currently around 430 students enrolled at the school, with about 230 in the Secondary School. This number is expected to return to pre-COVID capacity of 600 students. Students at CCS come from over 40 nationalities. CCS employs 40 expatriate teachers (primarily a blend of Australian, UK, America, Canada and NZ educators with international experience) and over 50 Indonesian teachers including highly-qualified teacher assistants.

The CCS campus is different: a blend of modern learning spaces, Indonesian architecture and art, and Bali’s incredible natural beauty. The campus is covered in lush gardens, bordered by rice fields, and even has a small river running through it. Facilities include numerous air conditioned classrooms with open air learning environments attached, science labs, music and art spaces, multifunction halls, sport field and playgrounds, yoga/meditation space, and a 25m swimming pool.

The mission of CCS is to empower all students as balanced, respectful and engaged global citizens who achieve their full potential as life long learners.

Our values are:
  • Learning: adaptable, creative, critical thinkers and inquirers
  • Respect: kind and open-minded people who respect themselves, others and the environment
  • Engagement: happy and confident learners who proactively collaborate locally and globally.
  • Balance: resilient and self-aware individuals who are emotionally, socially, and academically balanced.
