Curricula

The Avenues: The World School curriculum prepares students for a globally connected, innovation-driven.

Extensive reading + intensive making: In our Great Works core curriculum, students read carefully paired texts from the humanities and sciences while completing hands-on projects linked to year-long themes. Teachers challenge students to apply ideas from their weekly readings to real-world problems and execute projects that require research, experimentation, and making. The program’s title refers not only to the texts students read, but also to the great works they produce.

Language: Toddler–5th grade students receive intensive, small-group instruction in Mandarin or Spanish. 6-12th grade students can choose from 50+ languages.

Impactful programs for 6–12th grade students:

  • Writing Immersion Program (WIP): Developing eloquent writers and effective communicators
  • High Intensity Practice (HIP): Cultivating mental agility, empathy, creativity and critical thinking.
  • Math Inquiry: Discussion-based math at a virtual round table
