Accreditations

For children between 1 and 5 years of age, the educational structure complements the principles of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage), which is a programme of study designed especially for pre-school children to promote their personal, social and emotional development.

ICS Primary School is certified by Cambridge International Examinations, the organization that reports to Cambridge Assessment (University of Cambridge), and includes over 10,000 schools in more than 160 countries. The curriculum and objectives covered by Cambridge meet high international standards of English, mathematics and science learning.

For all other subjects, our international programme is delivered using the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), an innovative curriculum used in over 90 countries. It has a global approach that allows children to make links with the place they live as well as giving them a wider perspective on different people from different countries. It is a topic-based curriculum that involves a clear learning process as well as specific objectives for each subject, allowing children to develop an international/global mentality whilst emphasising individual learning.

The Middle Years Programme (MYP) is a curriculum framework designed for learners aged 11–16 by the International Baccalaureate (IB).
The MYP curriculum framework comprises eight subject groups, providing a broad and balanced education for early adolescents. Students take the core courses of language and literature, individuals and societies, mathematics, sciences, physical and health education, language acquisition, arts, and design. A unique feature of the programme is that it extends the traditional curriculum to include immersion in four themes — approaches to teaching and approaches to learning, global contexts and concepts.
ICS Milan is currently a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP).

ICS Primary and Middle School have been granted by MIUR official school status (Parità) in accordance with article 1, L. 62/2000.
